Lovely picture Maria, thanks for posting your Holiday happenings. Very interesting to read. I have no time to participate in any activities before the 23rd. I have cake orders till then. I do enjoy listening to the Christmas music. Christmas morning I cook a big breakfast for my family and my friends always know my door is open to them, so sometimes they drop in to eat & share a treat and to bring me one. We open gifts and just enjoy being together. Depending on the weather & later in the day, I try to go to the cemetery and place flowers on my Husbands grave and my Mothers. All in all pretty quiet. Sending Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you Betty for sharing your activities for the holidays. How kind of you to cook for your friends and family. So sorry about your husband and your mom. I just wish your Christmas be filled with love and happiness together with all your love ones. Merry Christmas. God bless.

I love your description of your Christmas, although I think September is a little early to start the festivities.
I love Christmas, I am from a big family and we had lovely Christmas's when we were young, all together. Now we all have our own families so we get together on Christmas eve to exchange small gifts and eat a buffet style meal, when my family leave we have a few friends and their families around, they finish off the food and we generally have a good time. Christmas morning we open our presents my husband, my self our 2 teenage children then my husband's mother and aunt arrive after church, we exchange gifts with them then we have our main traditional turkey dinner at about 2pm and usually snooze by the TV in the afternoon (heaven) after a small tea the ladies will go home and we can settle for the evening. During the holidays, we are invited to friends and families for meals, parties and get togethers. My Christmas seems to mainly involve eating haha, in the New Year I will make a resolution to loose weight :-) Merry Christmas to you and your family and all the best for the new year.
Thank you Carol for sharing your celebration of Christmas. It's just nice to know how people around the world celebrate it. The most common is gift-giving and eating a lot!!!LOL!!! Merry Christmas and God bless.
