Can anyone suggest a cake design to make for a female for graduation she loves Cup cakes, old movies and Audrey Hepburn. Maybe something black and white?

Easy Cake:

I would create chocolate cupcakes topped with a square chocolate dipped graham cracker (or you can tint white chocolate the color of her school colors). Tassels can be piped on top of the graham cracker. I would create two of these and put it one the top left corner of a 13x9 cake and this would leave space on the cake for you to write something on the cake. I would border the cake with a quote from her favorite Audrey Hepburn movie. Here is a link for famous quotes: http://thinkexist.com/quotes/audrey_hepburn/. As for the black and white I would use a white cake torted with a chocolate ganache filling.

Another Version

I am not sure of your experience level so here is another version. I would create 9 graduation cupcake hats like I described above. Line them up in threes on a 13x9 cake starting from the left side of the cake, leaving about 4-5 inches on the right side of the cake. This would represent the graduation class sitting in the graduation ceremony. Then using fondant and gum paste I would create a podium with audrey hepburn giving a speech. Audrey is known for her cigarette holder and her tiara and her hair. The podium and audrey would be placed on the 4-5 inches on the right side. Again I would border the side of the cake with a famous quote.

Those were my ideas..good luck with your cake decorating!
Thank you I like both you are very artistic. I'm not a Decorator but I think my could make the second one.
Thanks again

Depending on exactly how big of a cake you want I would do and 8 or 10 inch round and a 6 inch round on top, the sides of both cakes could be old movie style, with film reels, stars, edible images, or even posters of audrey hepburn, hand drawn or like an edible image if that is possible. To make it easier if you print out old posters or pics of audrey hepburn then put them on top of gumpaste you can place them on the cake like that. Then on the top tier have like a red carpet with the graduation girl either in gumpaste as a figure or just a photo frame with her pic. Have stars shooting out from either side and maybe either a saying or something like, shoot for the stars, or something like that. Then cupcakes with small fondant film reels, grad hats, diplomas, stars...make sense? HTH...
How about "Breakfast at TIffany's" themed cupcakes- 'tiffany' blue icing with white ribbon around the bottom (maybe make it to look like the grad thing they wear around their neck and add a line of the school colours) Good luck!
If she likes movies... why not make her the star! You could do a cupcake tree with a 6" cake as the topper. On each cupcake do the grad theme with the hats, 2010, etc... but on the topper.... make a movie reel out of black fondant and in each square put black & white pictures printed on edible imanges of her from the time she was a baby till her graduation.... At the top you could use the feathers & fun stuff.... I did a cake for our daughter for her 30th birthday similar to this and it was a huge hit. Only I used color pics because it was a very colorful event. There are pics in my album. Red white and black would be a great color combo too!
I have my edible images printed at our local bakery.
Love this idea, Jeri!
