How do I make this fondant top for my giant cupcake......... do i make fondant sausages(made of cake cut-offs and ganache) and  then top with RTR icing.

What else could i use for the fondant sausages????? Do I buttercram the top of cupcake before i put the fondant sausages?????????

Are there any tutorials on how to make this type of cupcake top?

It looks to me like the entire thing is carved, iced and covered in fondant.  Not sure but that is what it looks like to me.
