Wondering if any of you Decorators out there have a surefire way to make a Palmtree out of Fondant or Gumpaste.  Don't want the Palm frawn to start drooping after I put them on the cake. Making a Gilligans Island cake and doing decorations ahead of time

Hey Nancy,

I'm not sure if this would work but I did a crown a week ago that I put on top of my cake and i wanted it to not droop either. What I did was mix fondant + gumpaste, rolled it out (not too thin), and I had a cut out of a crown and traced it onto the fondant. You can do something similar, cut out a palm tree and trace it onto the fondant, cut it out and let it dry for few days. The tree will harden and then you can use it to put on top or sides of the cake....

Just ensure that your fondant + gumpaste isn't dry to avoid cracks.

Hope this helps...maybe others have a much simpler way to do it?!? :)
