Hi Marketta, What I do when I want to cut out a custom large letter/design without using a cutter is I print it out from my pc in the size I want it, I then trace it on parchment or wax paper and cut it out.  Then place that over your fondant or gumpaste and cut it out with an exacto knife.  Works really well and the skies the limit.

I do the same as Rosa!  Super easy way to make them.  Also you can use skewers to put into the letters add a little gum glue to them before you insert them into the letters and you can actually stand the letters up on the top of the cake easy that way.
