Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi,

I just started working with fondant a few weeks ago.  I am having problems keeping my t-shirt "fuzz" out of the fondant.  I make sure I don't wear a sweater and try my best to keep the work area clean.  How do you keep your t-shirt "fuzz" out of your fondant?

Now you know why chefs wear white!
LOL.. yeah. Always wear a white t-shirt or a chef shirt. Cotton jersey material (like t-shirts) sheds more than a woven material. Nursing scrubs also work well for this. I also use a sticky roller before I start working. If I leave the area I will give mself another roll too.
apron....
I usually wear an apron too. I bought a 6-pack of them at Sam's Club and change them out as I move from one task to another.
I guess I have never seen this happen... But my fondant does not touch my clothing either. I do wear an apron most of the time. I have my own "designer" aprons that I have made and always wear them when I deliver cakes. A chef coat would be great but I get too hot... (darn hot flashes!)
Great suggestion! I'll wear white and do the sticky roller thing.
