God Luck. I know from experience time is ALWAYS the enemy:)
Meant Good Luck
i've come up with another design that i can do with the stuff i have..of course its gonna be simple, but i"ll definitely post pics tomorrow..Thanks for all the past n future comments :)
Instead of a looped bow, make curls of the strips as a fluffy, curly bow!
Good Luck Kim! Yeah, those bow loops need to dry for a while either on a form, or on thier sides or with something stuffed into them to hold their shape. Now that you know you can be better prepared for next time. I know you will come up with something very nice for this cake!
Hey guys, i finally finished the cake, never mind the heat has it sweating like nobody's business...i've uploaded photos, so go look n give ur comments i'm open to all costructive criticisms
The cake looks great! I had my own fondant bow drama last week so I feel your pain. I think for the bow you wanted to do - up the sides and "tied" in the middle to make it look like the whole cake is a gift, you would need a fondant/gum paste combo or at least use some gum-tex kneaded into the fondant. However, in this heat, I have learned my lesson ... NO FONDANT! I tried to do one of those bow toppers with all the loops and the humidity literally melted the loops back into one goopy piece ...ick! But your cake came out beautiful!
