Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I am happy to tell you I was following the bill and the Senate Passed the Cottage Food Act.  All that has to be done is next Friday the House and Senate vote on it than it goes to the Governer.  Teddi Creamer told me this is just formality and Friday is the last day of the session and this is normal.  The Cottage Food Act will be come law once the Governor signs it and it will be effective July 1, 2011.

Thank you to everyone that helped and supported me and kept me going.

Thank you and you are a hero for getting this done.

CAN YOU MOVE TO CALIFORNIA, PLEASE?

Congratulations!!!!!  I am so happy for you..... and jealous.

Dawn,

I can't move to California, but, if you want to have the Cottage Food Act in California, just start contacting your state representatives now.  I started to pursue the Cottage Food Act last July.  I wasn't sure if it would pass but, I thought what do I have to loose.  I started to contact the representatives once I was getting a response back I just kept digging.  Contacting the Dept. of Health, Dept of Agriculture.  Thank I got real bold and contacted the Speaker of the House.  He was the one that pushed this through and directed the subcommittee to make it top priority.  So you just have to stay at it and don't give up, someone will listen.

Thank you so much!  The Hubby and I are moving back to FL in a few months from NYC and I was literally getting sick thinking that I may not be able to do a cupcake business down there (I'm desperately trying to get out of the middle of corporate America).

(Clap...clap...Standing Ovation!) :^)

Hi, I live in Jacksonville. What part of Florida are you moving to?

Hi!

We're heading to the Ft. Lauderdale area.  Actually, the original plan was to do this by the end of next year, but my better half just got laid off, so the move date has been, well...moved up :^>

No complaints from me; I am completely over the NYC grind.

I'm a newbie to this, but  I love baking my babies, they make folks very happy and I'm ready to leave corporate America and start something on my own.

I snuck a look at your pics and you are so talented...how long have you been doing this?
