Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi,

This is my first time making filled cupcakes, frosted with buttercream.  These are for tomorrow, and my question is do I need to put them into the refrigerator overnight or can they be left out at room temperature?

Thanks,

Terry

Probably too late here but it would depend on what you filled them with.  If it is a custard or a cream based filling yes you would need to refrigerate them.  If you are using ganache or buttercream you would not need to.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier Terry.  As Jeri says, we're probably too late now, but I agree with Jeri.  Basically, just treat them as you would the individual components.  If it's buttercream, that's always best at room temperature for shortish periods of time, but egg or cream based things need to be kept refrigerated.
