Hi everyone,
I am curious if anyone is using Elite....and what is the difference between that and regular Fondx....and with other brands...I just recently purchased Satin Ice and I like the flavor...I have made my own MMF and do like it, but I am thinking it may be easier to order already colored fondant(just seems easier and saves time too). I am also wanting to experiment by adding tylose to it to make gum paste ....and one more question...are there cheaper places to order or are most sites around the same price....I did find one site that seemed to have cheaper prices (but I did not check out what there shipping was)..any feedback I would definetly appreciate..
Thanks, Sue

Have not tried elite yet.
One thing I have found, unless you are getting free shipping, buy your fondant at your local cake supply store.
It is so heavy that the shipping prices are outrageous, IMO.
I buy so much at my regular store that I get a discount.
Good luck!

thanks for the replies, I will check out that site...I will be needing some pastels for a baby shower cake....

I've worked with everything Wilton, Satin Ice, made my own, and I LOVE Fondx Elite! It is flavored with white chocolate and rapsberry and tastes wonderful. It is very soft which makes rollout a breeze and has enough stretch so it does not easily tear when applying. Elite come in a host of colors from primary to baby pastels which saves time coloring. I add tylose for gum paste and it works great. The cap, tassel, and diploma on my graduation cake is done in Elite. I also used it for the animals on this childrens cake and you can see that it dries hard. If you sign up for Cal Java's email sales you can get the 2.2lb tubs for under $10. and their shipping is pretty reasonable.
love elite fondx, this is the only fondant i use. tried wilton, duff and don,t like either one, to dry.
