Has anyone tried making their own with buying a printer and putting edible ink cartridges inside instead of the normal ones?

If so , did it work correctly ?

I am thinking of doing this as buying a set  including printer would cost far too much, most probably the same amount of the products or more just in shipping !

Any help much appreciated !

Kind Regards,

Hey Stacy we have cartridges for Cannon and Epson printers that have worked really well. I work for PhotoFrost and please feel free to visit our website or contact us.

Hey Stacey,

I agree that buying the whole kit is far to expensive. I bought the Canon MG5300 from Staples and it was $100 and the edible ink was $110 and it works perfectly. You don't need to purchase  set from a site.

Hope this helps. let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the replies ! Do you think an Epson NX430 would work ? Just wondering as I already have one for printing paper, and with buying a new printer to make one, could use the  actual ink cartridges in my paper printer . and save some dollars at least :P

The biggest drawback to the Epson is the printhead. With a Cannon it can be cleaned and replaced. Here is a videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tydjteB1xNU

I would recommend that you not mix paper ink cartridges with edible in - it can be toxic. I also prefer the Canon.

Good luck!
