Kelly, if you will scroll all the way down to the bottom of the main page of Cakes We Bake, I think you will find the answer to your question right where the contest is announced. There is a first prize all the way down to a sixth prize and those are pointed out on the cake contest announcement.

Just wondering.....is the judging for one prize for ALL cakes -ones that used a printer and ones that did not? Or possibly 2 categories as such? Hard to compete with people who have an edible ink printer when you do not........ If not-maybe that would be a nice thing for next time.
Kelly, I do understand how you feel. You are not out of your league at all, as this site caters to the beginner decorator all the way up to the professional. I know for myself that being on a site that has all levels of expertise, it forces me to step up to the plate and challenge myself to work harder on learning new skills. It's only been in the last 3 years that I was brave enough to even try fondant, and I am 62 and have been decorating cakes since I was 23! Belonging to any cake site allows you to explore and and learn. On this site, I have gained new friends where we can share with each other what we know and what we don't know and support and encourage each other. This site isn't just about contests. There is so much more. Don't give up on the site because of the contests. Take everything you possibly can from this site and learn all you can. There will be more contests, and with each new contest it gives you an opportunity to try again. I've seen your cakes, Kelly. You have a great deal of skill and talent. I KNOW you are not out of your league.

Thanks for the reply Linda :). I understand the rules etc. I'm just saying-doesn't seem like a "level" playing field when some decorators who don't have printers are competing against ones who do have them. Obviously, they are going to look much nicer. That's ok-maybe I'm out of my league here. There are some beautiful cakes.
