A traditional Australian Dolly Varden cake tin has base diameter of 19cm and top diameter of 5cm, with a height 14.5cm. It has a capacity of 8 AU metric cups. The smaller "Bridesmaid" tin [less common] is 14cm base, 5cm top and 12cm high. This has a capacity of 4 AU metric cups. Depending on the manufacturer, there can be slight variations in sizing.

It should serve 16 - or 20, if cut smaller ...

The Wilton product, although similar, is not the same. It has a base diameter of 20.cm and top diameter of 5cm, with a height of 12.7cm. It takes 5-6 cups of firm-textured batter.

For the traditional Australian Dolly Varden cake tin, it takes 2x 340g cake mixes .. If you use any other size, you will have to re-calculate it ..

The normal buttercake [250g Butter, 1½ c Sugar, 4 Eggs, 3 c self-raising Flour, and 2/3 c Milk] should fit quite nicely into the mould.

Suzi, that was extremely helpful! I purchased my doll tin in an Australian store but it is a wilton brand one, I think I'll have to go measure it. Thanks so much for the info, I have a feeling ill be making more of these!
