Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hello!

I love baking cupcakes but I have a big frosting problem. I don’t like the taste of buttercream and cream cheese frosting! I’m desperately looking for a recipe for a “white frosting” which I can color and pipe. I like the taste of pastry cream, but the consistancy is wrong. I want to use tips to pipe flowers and leaves. Is there such a frosting which doesn’t contain massive amounts of fat or sugar or cream cheese?

what about a whip cream icing?
There may be, but I don't know what would be in it to keep it stable.  Whipped cream frostings (even the stabilized ones) only last so long, and they are pretty soft so I don't know if they would hold up for flowers and leaves.  Good luck, though!
Maybe SMBC? I know you can do fairly simple decorations with it.
