Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to carve an hourglass(?) shaped cake, for a corset cake...like the one above (not my cake)?

Sherry, I've not done one of these but I read a while back that the center layer is smaller (2") than the top and bottom layers. Once they are stacked you just carve the top and bottom to shape the waist.

Thank you so much for posting this link - very useful - and the advice on the waist cake.  This is what's not quite right about so many of the vertical cakes, the waist is too short - hadn't realised that was what it was until I read this, thanks.
