Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

so I need to make a cake for 3 things.

Girl's b-day (10 years old), her mom's b-day and mother's day.

I have the mother's day cake idea already.

how do you combine different occassions onto one cake?

anyone done this and have pictures?

How about a 3 tier cake... one tier for mother's day... next tier with a couple of pink and red ladybugs and funky petal flowers and the last tier a fondant princess crown or a mermaid or a fairy with some small flowers.

Or, you can make the tiers sorta the wonky cake style, use the pastel colors, make "bubble gum" type fondant balls in the 10-yr old fav colors, or a big fondant bow in her fav colors, funky petal flowers, pink and red ladybugs and mom's day cake with the idea you have.

I love Kathy's idea of a three-tier with three different designs! Try to think about what would be most special to each person and don't worry about them being perfectly in sync theme-wise. You can just make sure the colors are complimentary.

You could also do three smaller cakes and set them next to each other on a board in an attractive way if you don't want to stack.
ooooh, I just thought of adding on to what Eileen said. Make the three cakes separate and use a satellite cake set up. Meaning use 3 different size cake stands.
