Can you use buttercream on top of fondant

Do you mean as a border or decoration? If so Yes you can. I do prefer royal icing though. It will not slide off the fondant.

hey im making grass on the fondant out of the icing :)

You can definately use Buttercream for this. Royal icing would make the grass stand up better though. Either would work just fine.

if you are only using a little buttercream on top of the fondant you should be ok. But be careful using it over large areas. The moisture in it can cause the fondant to start to break down.
