The Austin cake show is going to seriously rock this year! The theme for the showcase competition is Caked Crusaders, so look forward to some awesome super hero / super villain mega cakes!
You want cake celebrities? WE GOT 'EM: Mike McCarey, Nicholas Lodge, Lauren Kitchens, Lorraine McKay, Susan Carberry, Marina Sousa, James Rosselle, Michelle Bommarito, Peggy Tucker, Becky Rink, and Lourdes Reyes will all be on hand as judges and/or instructors for awesome classes.
Plus all day long on Saturday, competitors from TLC's The Next Great Baker show will participate in a superhero-themed On-Site Competition.
And if that's not enough, check this out: the dinner event this year is a screening of "Kings of Pastry" and Jacquy Pfeiffer will be there in the flesh for a Q&A after the movie. How often do you get to see a movie and then chat with the star right after? This is a really rare opportunity that should not be missed by anyone involved with pastry and cake decorating!
That's all in addition to the tons of amazing cakes that will be on display for the divisional and showcase competitions. Everyone of any age or skill level can register to enter at
http://thattakesthecake.org/index.php/competition/registration/ . There are even divisions for kids 18 and under, who can enter for free or just attend the show for free. This is a great family-friendly event that really includes even the smallest cake-lover!
Plus vendors with amazing deals and hard-to-find products, informal demonstrations throughout the show, fun activities, and more.
This is the cake show you can't afford to miss!
