Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Happy Monday everyone!

I had a few questions regarding cake pops.  Has anyone tried to air brush sheen color on cake pops covered in chocolate?

How do you get cake pops to look shiny and metallic looking?  Any other tips on making pops look shiny would be great!

Thank you!!

I've brushed them with luster dust and that works really well to give them a sheen.

Hi Joann,

Thanks for replying back!  Would you brush them with lustre dust once the chocolate has been dried?  Do you need to put anything on the chocolate to allow the dust to adhere to it?

You wait till chocolate is dry. Mix your lustre dust with alcohol... gin/vodka & apply sparingly. Wait for a few hours before applying a 2nd application. :0)

Oh thats right June!! I completely forgot - Monday brain freeze!! hee heee...

Thank you :)

Hee Hee.....  I hear ya..... Monday  Monday.....  :o)

I always apply it directly to the chocolate once it's dry - no alcohol. Works fine.
