I make flour icing....poor mans Swiss Meringue Buttecream

Red Velvet Cake: take your favorite white cake recipe. Add 3 tblsp cocoa, approx 1 tblsp red food colouring to the batter. Another version is to do as above, but cut your baking powder to 1/4 tsp. Then just before you put your batter into pans, sprinkle 2 tsp baking powder over your batter, then sprinkle 2 tblsp red wine vinegar over top of baking soda...quickly fold into batter and pour into your pans.
