How about gumpaste fruits and veggies, maybe a food scale. Or, you could go the exercise route and do a jump rope, water bottle, towel, etc.....
What if you did it in an hourglass shape with a fondant tape measure around the middle. Does that make sense? I like Deah's idea about the fruits and veggies too.
How about a workout hand-frosted (painted) on the cake. With the heading The Biggest Loser - Celebration!
Show "paint" or fondant or molding: someone doing sit-ups, someone running, someone on a scale with a BIG SMILE! The scale can show a reasonable weight; perhaps 150 for a woman and 190 for a man????
Depending upon how many people are in your group, perhaps you can place their names on the side(s) of the cake with a estimated loss of pounds total of the group? 500, 1500, 2050 etc.

Paint in my opinion is freehand designing with your different colored icings.

I'll be looking for the final picture of your fantastic cake, Sherry!
Congratulations on joining the Biggest Loser Group!!! I wish you a very healthy and safe experience!!! Most of all, I wish you the strength and determination to maintain the loss and reach your all of your goals.
Maybe make gumpaste figures of the overweight ones with scales at a high wieght at the bottom of the cake... then add some exercise balls... jump ropes... weights... etc as you go up and maybe a scale on each tier that keeps going down... maybe some steps or a hiking trail as you go on up... then by the time you get to the top a fit figure with a scale even lower.... Just a thought the before... during... and final!

Great job!
