THIS IS NOT MY CAKE!!!

Has anyone seen a tutorial on this one?  Or do you have an idea on how to do this?

I'm assuming that the head is a styrofoam ball.  My concern is keeping the lid on the box.

Thanks Laney. A dowel thru the head makes sense. I'll get your invite to you shortly.

My baby head was much bigger than a cake ball.  And it was gumpaste and had set up for awhile to harden so it was not an issue at all.  The lid was put on right before the shower.  I think I forgot to mention that I had a dowel right behind the head and the blankets covered it up too.  Forgot about that one... but the lid did rest on the head too

Deah, Thank you!  Or rather...dang you!  Pintrest is addictive!

Jeri, That makes total sense!  Very kewl cake!

I have the tutorial for this from facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=268589843162323

Thanks Goreti!

Your Welcome.  I found it totally by accident.  Naheed posted something on facebook. When I went to that facebook page, it mentioned that royal bakery had wonderful tutorials.  Of course, I'm always looking to learn something new and decided to check it out.  Was so happy to find this one for you.  Who knows maybe some day I will have a need to make something like it.  It is so cute.

I saved this page. Like you said, there might be an opportunity to make this cake one day.

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share a picture of the "peek a boo" cake I did last weekend.  Thanks a lot for all your help and advice...i could have made the tissue paper look a little better...

Any thoughts/comments would be great!

Hi deah, this cake looks like a gift box i did, the head is best made as a styrofoam ball with a dowel pushed through it and the cakes for stability and the top of the box is also cake that is on a board. But  you must dowel where the back of the cake is touching the cake under it.  So the front is dowel with the styrofoam ball which is the baby and the top cake rest on the dowels in the bottom part. hope this helps

Meera,

It looks adorable.  You did a great job.
