Applying as a Cake Decorator
Hello everybody!!! I just want to ask for your help in case you know somebody who are in need of a Cake Decorator or a Cake Decorator's Assistant. I am looking for a more stable job abroad. Our situation here in the Philippines are not very good. You may be hearing from the news about flood, earthquake and other calamities. So in order to help my family I need to work and earn a regular income. We are also ready to migrate in case there will be a chance. I have 15 years of baking and cake decorating experience. Wow.... Big decisions Maria. That is a big, big question. I mean, firstly Maria, you would have to see immigration policies in place in different countries. Don't you have family in New Jersey?? Could be mixing you up with someone else here. Wish I knew of something here in my neck of the woods, but I have never actively looked. Hope someone here can help you.

Thanks for your kind reply June. We've been really planning to migrate so many years ago and this time we are really decided. It's either I work first in abroad before I can bring my family. I don't know somebody from New Jersey. I am just hoping I will be given a chance to work in any country as long as I have a permanent job. Fingers crossed and with God's help...

Honestly Maria, I have no idea how you would go about this. In the UK, I think there are agencies that help you find work abroad. I don't know if the same thing exists in the Philippines. Plus, there would be all the complex issues of having to get a work permit/visa wherever you go, I would have thought. Not to mention the fact that any jobs would probably require various degrees of qualifications. I wish you luck, but sorry I'm unable to help.

We have a member here, Nadia (Zohreh). She contacted me about immigrating to Canada from Iran. She & her family are now living in Vancouver, BC. I know her husband had a job where work would be able to be found here. I gave her names of the government agencies to contact. I have no idea what process they went thorough. Perhaps you could contact her through CWB and she may be able to share her experience. Hope this will be somewhat helpful....

Hi June and Katy! If only I have a job offer from an employer, I can apply for a work permit. The problem is who is that employer who will be willing to offer me a job.

You don't know who the employer is??? Or do you mean there is a problem with the particular employer?? What country???

June, I think Maria is saying that if she had a job offer from an employer, she could apply for a work permit. But as yet, she hasn't been able to find an employer to offer her a job.

Yes June Katy is right! I don't know who is going to offer me a job in order for me to get a work permit from whatever country that employer will come from, that's the big problem.....
