Hello all,
I'm toying with the idea of a LOTR cake for my grandson for his 21st Birthday. I would kind of like to have a bash at modelling a Gollum (talk about glutton for punishment!).
Has anyone ever done one who can give me some tips, or know of a tutorial anywhere?
Thanks

Good site Goreti. Fun to see how the cake was done. Katy...Have you checked out Pinterest?? Some LOTR there.
gosh you girls have been busy while I've been asleep! Thanks to you both - I'll check these links out Goreti.
Betty I did look on Pinterest but couldn't find any Gollum - I will check again as it was just a fairly quick browse through.
Katy I checked Pinterest too. Tried different wording but couldn't really find anything. If I come across anything else, I will let you know.
just checked the links out Goreti. I had seen the Crazy cakes one and it scared me off with all that construction underneath it lol! It does give some good ideas on the formation though. I like the between the pages one very much however, thank you. Although it doesn't actually tell you how to do it, you can see a lot of the creation in the pictures which I think may help a lot. I'm going to give it a practice run maybe next week and see how it goes. I've got plenty of time as his birthday is not until July! I'll let you know and thanks again for the help.
I totally understand about the crazy cakes one but I figured it might give you an idea how you could do it in gumpaste for a topper or even rice krispies treats.
Katy... I found a great full length picture of "IT". If that will help.
I put in my document but don't know how (yet) to get it to you on here.
I did it>>>>>>>
Yay Betty well done and thank you very much! xx
So it looks like Gollum might not be on the menu after all! Spoke to his elder brother last night and he says LOTR is not so much an obsession anymore. But he's still heavily into Call of Duty video game (sigh). So now it's looking like a sculpted cake in the shape of a German WW2 rifle. No pressure then...................
