Announcement and feedback requested: Cake Decorating Cruise to the Bahamas
Hello Everyone,
I am a cake decorating enthusiast and travel professional and am requesting your feedback regarding a cake decorating event. Carnival is hosting it this year, and the goal is to have it be an annual and/or semiannual event. It is a Cake Decorating Cruise to the Bahamas. After clicking on the link below, I would like your feedback on the following:
The length of the cruise (i.e. too long, too short, etc.)
The length of hands on time: Is minimum an hour a day enough, too much, too little, etc.
The types of classes that would be most beneficial to a cake decorator whether novice or advanced
Is the registration fee reasonable?
What else would you incorporate into the classes (i.e. a cake decorating contest?)
Any other feedback you can give would be helpful.

7 days seems about right
Depending on the cost of the cruise, an hour a day seems like not enough.
Would be nice to have a variety of classes to choose from so, depending on your skill level you could pick and choose - would definitely like to see:
- Working with Modeling Chocolate;
- Gumpaste flowers and figures,
- Upside down cakes
- Demonstrations from companies that sell items like The Mat, Cake Stackers, Somerset sheeters and Cake Safes
- Slicing and Serving tiered cakes
A contest at the end of the cruise would be awesome so decorators could show off their newly-acquired skills.

I would so be there, but we are doing our annual Thanksgiving cruise on Nov 20th!

would love to do this my bday is in oct. as well. didn't see a cost anywhere what is the appr. cost? i would love to have some hands on with chocolate and sugar oh yes the upside down cakes would be great.

$624 per person for an interior cabin (This includes everything including taxes and food)
$729 per person for an oceanview (This includes everything including taxes and food)
There is a $35 dollar registration fee, but it is being waived for the first 10 students.
There is also a installment plan option that we offer so that the total cost of the cruise can be broken up into weekly or biweekly payments.

The cruise is also being offered March 11, 2012 which for Texas is our state spring break.

That's an amazing price! I'd be willing to even pay a little more if I knew the classes would be a bit more intensive. Is it open to sign up already?

Yes, it is open to sign up. Several people have asked about more intensive classes, so I am seeing how we can incorporate that into the itinerary, or at the very least offer private lessons that focus on the skills you mentioned in your earlier post.
