Amount of cake vs. # of people
Hi!
I have to make an anniversary cake that serves 16 people. Just wondering how big a cake to make. What are the serving sizes per person?
It's for my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary. Their wedding colours were brown and yellow- groom wore brown tux and bride carried yellow carnations. Any ideas? My boyfriend says he was thinking chocolate buttercream icing with yellow royal icing flowers. I would like to try using MMF....

If they just want enough to serve 16 people, Wilton says you could do (2 LAYER CAKES):
1 8" round serves 20
1 8" square serves 20
1 8" heart serves 18
1 7" x 11" sheet serves 28
Now - this is based on Wilton's formula. However - one 8" square serves my family of 5. LOL. I've found that it's really hard to judge and I always tend to make more than they need because it's better to have too much cake than not enough, am I right? :) The link Deah gave you is helpful.
