Does the liquor or whatever alcohol used evaporate during baking?

Thanks.

I always wonder the same thing..I put rum in some of my cakes and didnt want to be responsible for someone to start drinking again. I was told that some very very little remains. There are also some flavorings on the market that are alcohol free. Now that I think of Vanilla has alcohol in it.
Yes, it does.
yes it does.
I was going to answer with a quick "yes" but I thought I would google it and see what I could find. Evidently, the answer is
"Maybe" or "Sometimes"

Take a look at this info - http://www.ochef.com/165.htm
Thank you Deah..I saw a episode on the food network I forget the name of it, but the man does alot of testing things like that. He found that there was alcohol left in the food.

Patricia, I think I saw that same episode... and some of the alcohol does remain but I read somewhere that it is not enough to make someone intoxicated or anything. Almost all extracts have alcohol in them.
