Iv'e got 2 sizes of rose cutters, not the single cutters though. Can I use these ? As there a slightly different shape? I would love to do wired but I can't learn how to do that yet. I've left it a little late to do that at the mo. Although it's on my to do list lol

Lis - I'm so sorry, I got it the wrong way round! This is what Les said -
I think from experience it would be better to go up a tin size although the cake obviously wont come out as deep, if you go down a size your going to need a very very deep tin as this does make a cake at least 3" high.
But of course if you just have too much mix, then you don't have to put it all in. As you say, you can make a little one too. That's what I did, so we could taste it

Ok, i will do that. I could use whats left over maybe , what i cant fit in the tin ?
Oh i dont know about ' flair' !!! Katy, lol
If i could be as good as you, id be really happy !
Im sure they are tempted to turn the sign to ' CLOSED' when they see me heading for the shop door lol
I could spend hours looking and "ooh got to have one of them.." Ha!
Thanks Katy, your a star
;-)

Thats ok hun, I dont know how much time i would have to adjust by. I dont know how to work it out LOL
Um yes if thats ok ?
I dont have the recipe i did for my bday cake anymore otherwise i could use that !
Thanks, lis
Well, Les says three and a half hours for his 8", so I would suggest try 3hrs first, test it with a skewer or knife and if that comes out with a little goo on it, give it another 15mins or so. Basically, start checking it at 3hrs maximum. I don't know about you, but I can actually smell when a cake is ready, the aroma in the house changes slightly so I think - should be done now!

Ok, thanks Katy. Are the eggs medium size or large ? Sorry for all the questions.

I made some Christmas roses for my daughter's wedding cake using Scott Clark Woolley's cutters. For the center I used my 3 smallest daisy punch cutters for the centers. Cut a circle, arranged the petals and attached to the circle, I then cut out 6 of the small daisies, pinched the tips of the petals started attaching them to the center of the petals. I had the flower in a forming cup(use different sizes so some are open and some are cupped) and after I attached each one I pressed my ball tool into the center to cup them until I got to the top. The last one I folded into half and then half again so it was pointed and inserted into the center of my "ball" I used my pointed tool to separate and form the center. They really took disco dust and sparkled and I thought looked great. I attached a couple pics for you to see how I did mine; you can also see the wedding cake in my photos
Beverly, these are stunning. Just lovely
