I bought the Wilton's Icing that you add milk and butter to. I followed the directions and it never got thick. I added powdered sugar and more sugar and more until i gave up. Any other suggestions that I could do next time?

hm i've seen the wilton's i've seen it already mixed in a can, all that sugar should have done it. only thing i can think of would be to pour milk in a little at a time.. i have a really easy recipe given to me by a pastry chef and it's not the sickening sweet, it's 1 cup of crisco, 1 stick of parkey 1 tablespoon of vanilla, or what flavor you want, and 1lb of powder sugar. really easy, when i want a softer non crusting bc i put in butter instead of parkey margarine, i like a non crusting for cupcakes of course more of less con sugar for what consistency you need.
