Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi all!

Does anyone know where I can find a 17" hexagon cake pan? I have a 5 tier wedding cake to make and the bottom tier needs to be 17"-18".

Would sooooooo appreciate it!!!

Thanx!

ok I googled  and then used dogpile.com and found this website http://www.foodservicewarehouse.com/Products/ProductSearchResults.a...

they don't have a hexagon pan but maybe you can use one of these trays and make a sheet cake and then cut it out.  they have 16" and 24" trays.  sorry the largest I could find was 14".  Hope this helps.

Thanx! Yes, i googled and googled and I think I just have to use an 18" rectangular pan, make two cakes, put them together and cut the shape out :/. It seems to me with some of the cakes I've seen that are 7 or 10 or 13 tiers somebody else might've needed one before me?

Thank you Faith! I really appreciate the effort! :)

Hexagons are easily cut from circles:

Thank you suziq! I was thinking to try to use a rectangular pan and put two side together.....

Think you might get less cake wastage with the circle version Mika?  I couldn't find a 17" pan anywhere either!  15 seems to be the largest...........
