I am lined up to do a days worth of demonstrations for us. First in the morning we will gather for registration and treats. I will be demonstrating a beer cooler cake, complete with sugar bottles and sugar ice.I will walk you through the steps needed to make your own sugar bottle mold. To see an example check out: http://family.webshots.com/album/563227292zhZBPk. Also on the agenda, a draped flag on a cake- suitable for service personal, leaving or coming back from deployment or even a veteran’s birthday. Example of this technique can be found at: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/85932072nsRiPZ.. Sprinkled among the day will be little tidbits and tricks of the trade including a fast and easy way of using crusting buttercream to look like faux fondant. In the afternoon, I will share some of the ways cake decorators can utilize a Cricut to help decorate cakes. If you own a Circuit machine or are considering purchasing one, you need to come and check out all the ways you can use this new tool.Mycakes can be viewed at: http://community.webshots.com/user/sewsweet2
Door prizes include a DVD from SugarProductions, "The Mat", a silpat, and silicone molds from Decoratethecake.com.
I have demonstrated a faux fondant buttercream techniqu at 3 ICES conventions in past years. Cost is $35 and includes lunch.
