Cupcake Competition for Bakers and Decorators

Diane Shavkin is the Event Coordination for this event to be held at St. Joachim's Church in Beacon NY on Saturday, September 17, 2011.  Classes will begin on Friday evening at 4:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church, Beacon NY.  Churches are next door to each other.  There will be vendors, demonstrations, classes, competition entry displays and lots of fun.  Information and forms will be posted on www.shavkin.com beginning in May.  Pre-registration required for classes and entries.  At-door General Admission tickets will be sold.  With "Attendee Registration" perks are received plus free demonstration tickets and nice goodie bags.  One must be a registered attendee with the "Attendee Registration" in order to take classes and enter.  Divisions are "Tasting Competition" and "Decorative Competition".  Four categories for the "Tasting Competition" and several categories for the "Decorative Competition":  All Fondant, Sculpted/Shaped, Centerpiece with cupcakes, 3-Tiered Cupcake Cake, Youth ages 4-8, Student ages 9-12, Teen ages 13-17 and Culinary.  Theme is:  "Love in the Tropics".  Theme for the Youth, Student, Teen and Culinary is:  "A Tropical Beach".  Cash prizes with some gift-type prizes.  First, Second and Third awards plus Best of Tasting and Best of Decorative.  All profits goes to the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon, NY for those in need.  Contact:  Diane Shavkin at dshavkin@optonline.net.
