black silhouettes

Hi Wendy - I'm sure you'll get some suitable replies from fellow members in the US about these (I am in the UK).  But just in case all else fails, I am about to put a silhouette on my daughters 50th birthday cake.  What I have done is trawled the internet till I found a figure I liked, printed it out and will use it as a template to cut the figure in black fondant.   Mine is a glamorous lady type figure, so I will then add a bit of texture with a modelling tool and paint some gold glitter on the dress to 'glam' it up a bit.  I have done a trial run and it seems to work fine.
