Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I have been asked to teach a cupcake decorating class at church, this is for a women's LDS Super Saturday.

This will be about an hour class.

Any fun ideas any one has that SHOULD be part of the class?

Would love to hear your ideas.  I usually do stuff like this and afterwards I say, "Oh man, I should have...."

I've done a class as part of fundraiser.    You'll have to plan tools and equipment that you need for the class.   Then prepare a certain number of cupcakes, piping bags, wet towels, icing, colors, tips, icing palet knives, sprinkles, candies, etc depending on the number of people attending the class and activities.   You'll want to plan the class activities.    Did you want people to mix their own colors?   or just decorate them using already filled piping bags?   Then you want to plan the what you want to teach like swirls, rose swirls, petal piping, shells, etc.    Once you come up with the number of designs, then you should have those already made before the class begins so that you can show your class what they'll be making in the class.    Good luck and have fun!

My class went incredibly well today!  I had quite a few there, and they were all so excited to learn and just to have fun.  We did have fun!

I learned alot about teaching..  I think for me it is easier to do than it is to teach:)

Thanks for all your ideas and input, it all went to good use!!
