Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I was wondering if a 10" and 8" tier or 12" and 8" will serve 50 people. I have looked over several cake serving charts but they all give different servings. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

My matrix shows a 10 and 8 serves 55 people.

9 and 6 serves 40

10 and 6 serves 48

a 12 by itself serves 56

I betcha you'll get many different answers from us, though.

Thanks for your response. Do you mind telling me where i can get that matrix?

I guess it depends on how high your cakes are and let your customer know the serving is based on the serving size like for example 1x3x4 (4 inches as height).    For wedding cakes, I use 1x2x4, then you can calculate the volume of the cake to figure out the servings.

Send me an email to tryingcake.com.   I'll shoot it over to you.

Hi Dawn, I 'm not sure how to send you the email at "tryingcake.com". Is that a website? What is your email address so I can remind you to send me a copy of your matrix? If not could you send it to me at Terry11621@yahoo.com? Thanks so much. Have a great week!!
