Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Newbie: Hi was wondering if anyone has ever tried Duffy's fondant available at Michaels??

Hi guys!

Thsi is my first time in this community...glad to be a part of it..

I have just enetered this crazy and obsessive cake decorating world and have been using Satin Ice rolled fondant for decorating but I got an email from michaels.com and they announcned their new line of Duff (from Ace of Cakes) fondant and icing. has anyone ever used it??

Rumor has it that it is actually Fondarific who is the manufacturer but Duff is the label..Maybe you have used fondarific ....if yes.. how was it??

thanks again

I am also curious! I've been too busy to go to Michael's and check out their new Duff Stuff. I hope to swing by this weekend, but you know how crazy life gets!
So do I...I hope to go there this weekend..and try it out..they sent me a 40% coupon so that makes me a bit more motivated to try his fondant...gonna be using it to make an anniversary cake...so I hope ebing a miser does make the cake taste awful...lol!

Thansk Deah...now I am really confused seems like Satin Ice has a loyal following but .was really looking to see if anyone thinks the taste and/or quality is worth paying more for than Satin Ice....

I was hoping they'd have "show and tell (and taste)" at our Michael's. But I don't think they will.
I wouldn't buy it. It's overpriced for sure. Rather than pay too much for it at Michael's, I'd buy some Satin Ice and some Fondariffic and see which you like best.
One can only hope and wish..hahaha..lol!
Would make sense right..maybe they will one day offer free demo classes using Duff's fondant..

I think that is a great idea...might just have to swallot he bullet and go buy it and see if it is really worth the big bucks!

I may only purchase the black fondant and that's if I really need to. It is over prices, all his products are. The consumer is only paying extra for the name.
