Anyone have suggestions on the best way to put chevron stripes made of fondant on a buttercream cake?  Do you make one long piece to add or sections?  What do you do to insure it is straight?  I did this last night but want ideas on how others do this to see if there is a better way.  It took me forever!

I've never made it myself but do have this tutorial on it http://jessicakesblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/chevron-inspired-safari-....  As far as the easiest way, it would be to use these onlays from Marvelous moulds http://www.marvelousmolds.com/onlays/chevron-onlays.  I was lucky enough to win some given away by Isugarcoatit.com but haven't had a chance to use them yet.  Plan on use one of them on a cake today.  Have been told that they are super easy to use.

Well Goreti, you beat me to it!  Exactly what I was going to say.

Thanks Coreti and Katy!  I will try this the next time I put chevron on buttercream!  I really appreciate the suggestions!

Your welcome Donna.  Just to update you, I finally got to use one of the molds (moulds) and let me tell you....  It is wonderful.  If this is something you will be doing often, I would definitely recommend your getting one.  It is super easy and saves so much time.  Now I can't wait to use one of the others.
