I have a request for 'rhinestones' on a wedding cake.  I am thinking the sugar diamonds are what I need, but last time I tried them, they lacked any lustre - didn't sparkle like I was hoping.  Any suggestions?

I bought some of the sugar diamonds and did not like them after I got them. Was a huge waste of money... they were too big for what I wanted... got cloudy and I just did not like them at all. I ordered some of the bands for the last cake I did and love them!!!
These are the ones I got that I did not like at all...

And these are the bands that I got that I love. You just rinse them off and they can be reused over and over. They come in different widths. I got the 5 row and love the size...

You can see the cake in my photos...
Hi,
I'm new here, I forgot what I was looking for LOL, but found this question and thought I might be able to help. First, make sure you're making your gems with distilled water, so you can avoid the "cloudiness." Second, spray or brush on your "rhinestones," confectioner's glaze; you can find it at Chef Rubber. I think the web is chefrubber.com. Good luck.
