Church Homecoming Cake
I've been asked to do a cake for our church homecoming. I'm coming up with nothing! I know I want 3 tiers - 12, 9, 6 but that is as far as I have gotten. I want it to be a super cake so when people walk into the room they will say WOW!
Any ideas would be appreciated.

How about brush embroidery on the sides, maybe a pretty plaque on top with roses and a cross in gold...could do some eyelet draping or flounce on the bottom
or some stargazer or calla lilies..big ones adorning the cake and some beautiful grosgrain ribbon around the bottom edges
or do some quilting with pearls in the intersections on one tier, swiss dots on another and a stencil design on the third painted in gold.
Or you could paint a few verses on the sides of the cake something from the Beattitudes....
Maybe some of that will turn on the "switch"

Ooops, misread your post. I'll post picks after it's finished. I have 4 double layer 9x13 cakes and this tiered cake to do for homecoming. I'm going to be busy for the next week gathering everything and getting it done.

As I read your post I was visioning the bottom tier painted with God's Hands and the second tier a round ball pan painted like the world God's Hands holding the world... guess I am feeling a bit sentimental today with all the 9 - 11 broadcasts today.
