Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

 Hey Everyone,

I kind of  knew this was going to happen, The beer cooler cake that I did several people saw pictures of it, Now I've been asked to do about 4 of them for different people, The only thing I don't have a clue on what to charge, So I've quoted between $ 75.00 to $ 80.00

Do you think this is too much or not enough, This cake is 2 reg. size sheet cakes, So what do you think ? Thank You for your help !

I think it may depend on your area Adrian, what the market will stand etc.  Try to see if you can find someone in your area, either online or by other means and see what they charge.

Otherwise, I suggest you calculate the cost of your ingredients - cake batter, fondant, butter cream plus any extras - board, box etc.  Basically, whatever you are going to spend you must at least recoup.  Then add the cost of your time (you already know roughly how long it's going to take you to do) and charge per hour of work.  How much you charge depends on you.  I tend to go for the minimum wage if it's for a friend (which it usually is!)

Thanks Katy !!!!!!
