How in the world would I go about pricing the frosting? Would I add everything together then divide by say..tablespoons? I'm quite hopeless...

For costing the frosting go by how many cupcakes you can cover with one batch. Divide the cost of the frosting by the number of cupcakes frosted.
The one thing you want to ensure is consistency with your product and the best way to get consistency is to weight everything. By that I mean when you are making your cupcakes weigh how much batter you are putting in your liners - every cupcake should have the same amount of batter and they will all come out the same size.
When icing your cupcakes weigh how much icing you put on the cupcake. Weigh the uniced cupcake first then weigh after iced and the difference is how much icing you used.
Its a lot of trial and error at first but the end result will be a consistent product.

I did the same: costed out my standard batch of buttercream and divided to get the "per ounce" cost. From there you can add variations to the price as you change flavors and/or add ingredients. From there, use nonie chu's steps x labor/profit and you'll get to your selling price. I've found that except for big differences such as buttercream versus cream cheese frostings, most come out about the same.
